It’s the 1st of October, and it’s starting to feel like that time of year again—the time when everything speeds up toward the year’s end. They don’t call it “silly season” for nothing. But here’s a friendly reminder not to forget what really matters most. It’s easy to find yourself rushing through the last three months, only to look back and wonder, “What actually happened?”

So, slow down, take a deep breath, and make time for moments with friends and family. Be intentional. We challenge you to go out of your way, even just a little, to make someone’s day—even if it’s something small. Add some meaning to the madness. You can always earn more money, but the time you spend is gone forever.

I’ve visited this spot countless times—it’s just a 40-minute drive from my home. Hidden along the incredible Garden Route. It’s so accessible and familiar to me that I’ve forgotten the magic it holds.

But just look at it.

I recently saw someone post a video of this place on Instagram, and I was stunned. I couldn’t believe how breathtaking it looked, even though I’ve known it all my life.

We need to remember to view the world like tourists—fresh eyes every time. That’s where you’ll find inspiration, creativity, and even gratitude.

Four days without water, in the middle of a hectic

Four days without water, in the middle of a hectic week of shoots with clients. Dirty, tired, but not yet uninspired, we promised ourselves we wouldn’t leave this week without creating one piece of content purely for fun and for the sake of creating more art for the world to see. So, we headed out, suited up, destination: skatepark.

In the first meeting we ever had as Blank, one of our co-founders, Simeon Kriel, asked each of us what we are passionate about. Ultimately, that’s why we’re working so hard to build this agency. Passions, as fun as they are, for the most part, need resources and cost money to get started. So we knew from the beginning we were going to work on projects and things that wouldn’t be exciting at first but would help us build the foundation to one day put everything we have into the things we love most.

This photo session is one of those things that has no reason or meaning behind it other than to simply have fun and create something that other people will hopefully find inspiring. So please, don’t abandon the things you love for the sake of survival. Find time, make the time, do whatever you need to do to spend time on the things that you love, no matter what that is.

Feeling a bit off balance? Life can get crazy, and juggling everything can seem impossible. But all you really need is 3 daily wins.

Mental, physical, and spiritual.

Make sure you learn something new each day, even if it’s small—it can feel like a massive win sometimes. Get some exercise. We’re not machines; we need to get outside and move our bodies. And make some quiet time. Spend time on your spiritual practice. It’s good to get away from the world and the noise sometimes; otherwise, it can feel like you’re drowning. Keep going strong out there.

What does blank do? We get that question a lot😂 And honestly, we don’t have an “industry-approved” answer. Yes, a lot of “experts” out there will tell you that’s a bad thing and you need a “niche” and should focus on one or two things to get really good at them. But that’s just not blank.
Our niche is not to niche!

So, to get back to the question, “What does blank do?” We do what’s fun (as far as possible). We know that fun doesn’t always pay the bills. So, we have projects that at the start don’t look like “fun,” but we try as far as possible to see how we can make them fun. The day we stop having fun is the day blank doesn’t exist anymore. Does that sound childish? We hope so!

The blank team is basically a bunch of kids that can do a few cool tricks.

We have been so busy these last few months that we have to remind ourselves to take a break and breathe. What that looks like for each of us may be different, for some its a lighting up a smoke, for others its prayer or meditation. Whatever it is that helps you center yourself and be present, remember to do just that when life gets crazy.
